Hide any type of file in an image

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

After going through this trick you can easily hide any file in an image file.

For this you only need file(s) to be hide, an image in which file(s) is to be hide, WinZip or WinRar and any windows OS.

  • Now first gather the file(s) and the image in a same folder
For example, let the file(s) to be hide are:
A.txt & B.mp3
and the image file is: Z.jpg
  • Now Add the file(s) to be hide, into an archive (.zip/.rar) using WinZip/WinRar
Let, the archive is named Y.zip
  • After that open the Command Prompt by going to Start >> Run >> cmd
  • In Command Prompt, navigate to the folder where your two files are located [i.e. the image and .zip/.rar file], you can do this by typing "cd path" [eg: cd C:\Windows\New Folder]
  • Type: "copy /b [Image name]+[File name] [Image's new name]"
For Example, copy /b Z.jpg+Y.zip Z1.jpg
Congrats, as far as anyone's viewing is concerned, this file looks like a JPG, acts like a JPG, and is a JPG, yet it now contains your file(s).
Now if you want to view/extract your file(s), there are two options that you can take:
  1. Change the file's extension from .jpg to .zip/.rar, then open and extract your file(s).
  2. Leave the file's extension as is, instead right click on the file, open it with WinZip/WinRar and your file is there.
